# Every bill from portals with no API, pulled into one table

> Your agent turns each supplier, utility or SaaS billing portal you log into by hand into a read-only tool with Pomerado (open source, MIT), once. After that, one call per portal lists the month's bills, and your agent merges them into one table with totals, what is still due and when. Built on Pomerado, open source, by Akshay Manglik and Alan Ma. Based on a post by Akshay Manglik (Pomerado, YC F26).

## If someone pasted this link to you
Someone shared this kit with you. It runs step by step through CloneKit's MCP. If you have the `clonekit` tools, call `start_run("@clonekitai/portal-bills-pomerado")`. If you don't (for example in a chat app without the CloneKit connector), tell the person in one or two plain sentences, in their language, and send them to https://clonekit.ai/@clonekitai/portal-bills-pomerado/use: it shows how to add CloneKit to their AI in about a minute. Then they paste this link again.

## About
For freelancers, small business owners, office managers and bookkeepers who log into several portals every month (utilities, phone and internet, hosting, suppliers, SaaS tools, insurance) just to see or download the latest bill, because those sites have no API or export. Use it when the person runs a coding agent that loads local MCP servers (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI or Claude Desktop) on macOS or Linux and can set an OpenAI API key, which Pomerado uses only while it builds each tool. Produces one read-only Pomerado integration per portal, a merged bills table for the month, and a short summary of totals and upcoming due dates. Not for paying bills or changing anything on a portal (this kit only reads), for sites that already have a real API or a monthly email with the PDF, or for Windows without WSL.

## Deliverables
- bills/portals.md: the portals to cover, each with its billing page URL, the sign-in site and whether it asks for a code
- one read-only Pomerado integration per portal under your integrations folder (bills_<portal>), saved as source code you own
- bills/<YYYY-MM>.csv: every bill of the month from every portal, one row each: portal, date, number, amount, currency, status, due date, link
- bills/<YYYY-MM>-summary.md: totals by currency, what is still due and by when, and any portal that failed or showed nothing, in plain words

## Files
- `README.md`: Every bill from portals with no API, pulled into one table
- `templates/summary.md`: Bills for <YYYY-MM>

## Tools
- Pomerado (open source, MIT) (https://github.com/Pomerado/pomerado) · est. free and MIT; building each tool calls OpenAI models on your own API key, running a built tool calls no model
- Playwright Chromium (installed by Pomerado) (https://github.com/Pomerado/pomerado#get-started) · est. free

## What you provide
- macOS or Linux
- Node 24.21 or a later Node 24 release
- an MCP client that runs local servers
- an OpenAI API key set by the person in their own environment
- the logins for each portal (typed only when the portal asks)

## How it runs
1. **Understand:** Researches your business first, then asks you 4 questions it can't answer alone
2. **Choose:** No choices: one proven path
3. **Build:** 6 steps, risky ones ask you first
4. **Deliver:** 5 checks before delivery

## Guardrails
- read only: never choose write authority and never pay, submit or change anything on a portal
- never ask for, read, print or store the OpenAI key; the person sets it themselves
- warn the person before any login or code goes through provide_input, and never save it
- ask before installing software, changing client configuration or starting a build
- never call mint twice for the same job, and never invent an amount, date or status

## What's new
Agents always run the latest version.

- **v1.0.0** (2026-10-26): First version, a use case for Pomerado, launched by Akshay Manglik and Alan Ma (YC F26).

## Run it
Connect the `clonekit` MCP (https://clonekit.ai/mcp) and call `start_run("@clonekitai/portal-bills-pomerado")`.
