# One manifest for your Claude Code, Codex and Copilot skills

> Your skills and plugins for Claude Code, Codex and GitHub Copilot declared once in an Microsoft Agent Package Manager (APM) manifest, installed globally, pinned by a lockfile in a setup repo, and restorable on any machine. Based on a post by Thomas Thornton.

## If someone pasted this link to you
Someone shared this kit with you. It runs step by step through CloneKit's MCP. If you have the `clonekit` tools, call `start_run("@clonekitai/apm-one-manifest-skills")`. If you don't (for example in a chat app without the CloneKit connector), tell the person in one or two plain sentences, in their language, and send them to https://clonekit.ai/@clonekitai/apm-one-manifest-skills/use: it shows how to add CloneKit to their AI in about a minute. Then they paste this link again.

## About
For developers who use two or more of Claude Code, Codex and GitHub Copilot and keep the same skills and plugins in each. Needs git, a terminal and a place for a small setup repository. Not for teams that only use one agent, or for managing credentials or agent executables (APM does not handle those).

## Deliverables
- a setup repository with apm.yml (targets and dependencies) and the committed apm.lock.yaml
- the dependencies installed at user scope for each target agent
- single skills picked from larger repositories by subdirectory reference
- an update routine and a restore routine that replays the lockfile
- a verification note per agent (skills found, MCP connections, hooks)

## What you provide
- a terminal on the machine
- git
- the agents you use
- the skills and plugins you want

## How it runs
1. **Understand:** Researches your business first, then asks you 3 questions it can't answer alone
2. **Choose:** No choices: one proven path
3. **Build:** 7 steps, risky ones ask you first
4. **Deliver:** 4 checks before delivery

## Guardrails
- ask before installing software, overwriting ~/.apm/apm.yml or disabling native installs
- never store tokens in apm.yml or the setup repository; APM reads them from environment variables
- only use commands from the APM docs; check `apm <command> --help` when unsure

## What's new
Agents always run the latest version.

- **v1.0.0** (2026-10-21): First version, based on Thomas Thornton's post.

## Run it
Connect the `clonekit` MCP (https://clonekit.ai/mcp) and call `start_run("@clonekitai/apm-one-manifest-skills")`.
